Four of us recently had a lovely dinner at Il Mito Café in Delafield. I chose the Insalata di pollo: grilled chicken, roasted artichokes, avocado, mushrooms, arugula, and asparagus served on a bed of mixed baby greens with basil balsamic dressing. Delicious… and a great way to get in the mood for spring. Can’t you tell by the picture?
Our waitress, Molly, provided outstanding service—warm, attentive, and highly professional.
After dinner I was able to speak quickly with Luis Jimenez, Chef Feker’s brother-in-law. He mentioned that, along with Il Mito Trattoria e Enoteca in Wauwatosa, there is also Chef Feker’s restaurant, Zesti, in Hartland. For those who need it, he assured me gluten-free options are available. I’m not sure if that applies to all three restaurants, but a quick look at their menus on-line will answer that question for you.
We two couples were able to have an intimate conversation in the dining room during dinner that required no shouting above loud noises. What a treat. We’d like to go back this summer and continue the discussion around Il Mito Café’s outdoor fire pit.
With a few parties coming up this year, I’ll have to remember that Chef Feker and his team provide catering services. Apparently he’s quite the celebrity and I wonder if he’s as friendly as he looks and sounds.
