THINK TANK

Where We Help Businesses Grow — One Connection at a Time

At Small Business Milwaukee, we believe strong businesses are built on strong relationships. That’s why we host Virtual Think Tanks — small, solution-focused sessions where local entrepreneurs share ideas, find inspiration, and build meaningful connections.

THINK TANKS: BIG IDEAS IN A SMALL GROUP
Every Monday at 6 PM CST | Every Thursday at 2 PM CST

Our Think Tanks bring business owners together in an open, collaborative environment. Expect genuine conversations, fresh insights, and practical takeaways. Whether you need a spark, a strategy, or a sounding board, you’ll find it here. Many members have been connecting for years and newcomers are always welcome.

what Our Members Say:

I’ve had the privilege of participating in Small Business Milwaukee’s Think Tank, led by Tracy Champagne, and it has been an incredibly valuable experience. As someone who believes strongly in collaboration, community, and continuous improvement, I really appreciate the way Tracy guides the discussion. She creates a welcoming space where business owners can be open, ask questions, and receive thoughtful, honest feedback.

Every session has helped me clarify next steps, think more strategically, and gain new perspectives from the business partners. There’s real value here — not just ideas, but practical direction and genuine support.

If you’re a business owner looking to grow, learn, and connect with others who want to see you succeed, I highly recommend joining. The Think Tank meets every Monday at 6:00 PM and every Thursday at 2:00 PM (Central). I’m grateful to be a part of it.

Every time I hop into a Think Tank session, I’m reminded why I regret not attending every single one. It’s not just networking – It’s the kind of space where conversations zigzag from AI to parenting, from how we manage productivity to how we manage life, and sometimes even deeper into philosophy and purpose. The range is wild, and the value? Even wilder. I always walk in with one idea in my head and leave with a multidimensional takeaway I didn’t see coming. What makes it so special? The people:

Tracy Champagne created this space with intention—it shows in how welcoming, insightful, and energizing it is.
Bill S. brings unmatched warmth and sharp energy to every conversation.
Jamarri J. dives into automation like a professor – always teaching, always leveling us up.
Al T. shares hard-earned business wisdom with real-world clarity – he’s been there.
John A. has this low-key humor and chill perspective that grounds us and lightens the vibe in the best way.

I’ve met people from all walks of life and business here. It’s also the kind of space you can come to on a rough day – just to talk, get inspired, or bounce ideas off people who get it. This community has given me more than business insights – it’s given me perspective, connections, and reminders of why I do what I do.

Essential Networking Tips

In-Person Networking

Be Curious, Not Salesy
Ask others about their business first. People remember those who show genuine interest, not those who launch into a pitch.

Listen More Than You Talk
Really hearing someone builds trust faster than trying to impress them. You never know where a good listener will be remembered.

Ask Great Questions
Try these:

“What inspired you to start your business?”
“What’s been your biggest win lately?”
“Who would be a great connection for you?”

OnLine Networking

Log In Early & Test Your Tech
Give yourself a few extra minutes to check your camera, audio, and lighting. A smooth start shows you’re professional and prepared.

Use Your Real Name & Business (if space allows)
Change your Zoom name to something like: “Jane – Milwaukee Wellness Coach.” This helps people remember who you are and what you do.

Show Up On Camera
Being visible builds trust. You don’t have to look perfect—but having your face on screen makes connection feel more personal.
