Run Black & Green Launches Second Season of Free Community Wellness Events

Run Black & Green (RBG) is kicking off its second season of free community wellness events, bringing together movement, conversation, and community building at locations throughout Milwaukee from May through October.

The season begins with the 2nd Annual Move Like Malcolm Wellness Event on Saturday, May 23, at Havenwoods State Forest. Participants are invited to join a group walk or run, meditation, food, and discussion centered on Malcolm X’s legacy and community wellness.

Following positive feedback from last year’s participants, Run Black & Green has expanded its programming to include monthly events through October. Each gathering will feature a community-led warm-up, group walk or run, and interactive conversations and activities focused on wellness, creativity, and social issues. Events are free, family-friendly, and open to the public.

Upcoming events include:

  • May 23: 2nd Annual Move Like Malcolm – Havenwoods State Forest
  • May 30: Walk, Run, Ride & Resistance – Clarence and Cleopatra Johnson Park
  • June 6: Walk It Out – Milwaukee LGBT Community Center
  • July 11: Run Black & Grow
  • August 8: Rain Run Flood Resilience
  • September 19: Creative Juices Flow
  • October 31: Strides for Survival: Panther Power & Preparedness

Founded by Nateya Taylor, Run Black & Green describes itself as a community movement that combines wellness, creative expression, and cultural connection. Its mission is to promote healthier, stronger, and more connected communities through movement and shared experiences.
